In addition to addressing the creative process and the craft of fiction and nonfiction, Philip Gerard offers several workshops (adaptable for shorter or longer duration) developed over long experience coaching writers and articulating the lessons he has learned from the best writers in the field.

 The Art of Research

For writers of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.
In this workshop learn how to design a research program, how to get the most out of it,
and how to incorporate what you find out into your creative project.

 Writing Your First Book

Primarily for writers of long-form fiction and nonfiction, but also for those assembling
collections of short stories, essays, or poems.
This workshop addresses structural and other decisions and gives writers a template
and tools to get control of a long-form project and make it viable.

 Writing History

For writers of fiction or trade nonfiction.

In this workshop discover how to be both accurate and interesting, investigate the ethical
choices a writer makes in addressing the real figures and events of the past, and develop
methodology for being true to the time in language, metaphor, and worldview.
